FASHION WEEK: ALEXA CHUNG FOR MADEWELL

I loved watching her show. She is witty and her style is effortlessly amazing.
Enjoy,

My September issue

The september issue of many magazines have hit the stands, in response, I am making my own September issue of everything fashion related.

1.)dvf.com
I am so devastated that I can't attend FNO (fashion's night out) this year. I had been looking forward to it all year. Flying to New York has always been magical for me and I get teary eyed when I leave, I can't go this year because I am saving up for Teen Vogue fashion U in October (I hope I get in). Still sucks :( I am consoling myself by ordering a t shirt.
And following everyone that is attending obsessively on twitter.

2.)
Leopard print is in - big! Though I don't always love animal prints (I saw a few episodes of Jerseylicious that traumatized me).  I am a fan of these Jefferey Campbells Platform clogs. These shoes can make a basic skinny jeans and t-shirt combo look amazing or a nice crisp, white, sundress. Ideas!

They are my next purchase.

3.)
so the weather has finally gotten better, it's still Africa hot but a little windy. So I can wear pants, which is good, I can only live in shorts for so long.

I originally wore this outfit a few weeks ago but it was hot and by noon I was sweating. I can wear my cargo trousers, I love them!

I rolled them up, I just love the way the trouser drapes and the pockets - divine!
Favorite wedged summer sandals.
Cropped top, Earrings; vintage. Sandals; Roxy. Pants, Glasses; Forever21.

4.) Vogue.com
Editor in Chief, Anna Wintour officially launched Vogue's website. It happened, I am adding it to my daily reading list.

5.) Alexa Chung for Madewell
see video above.

6.)
Oh, how I love this outfit! I found it on Refinery29.com a week ago, it just reminds of the pieces I want to wear later this fall.

7.)

My new topshop eye makeup. So pretty. I am ordering it now! .

8.)
Random fact.

This has absolutely nothing to do with fashion, but it was a good lunch so I took a picture and the food looked really pretty. I had lunch at the craftsman's house. It is basically a scented oil shop, meets pottery shop, meets gallery and a Cafe. It's eclectic; if you are ever in the Tampa bay area, visit!

9.) Best September issue cover

Love this cover, it is like old hollywood meets Cleopatra. See any similarities.

10.)
Lanvin for H &M
After weeks of anticipation and confusing the hell out of me my trying to guess who the designer was, they finally announced Lanvin as the new collaboration. I couldn't be more excited; Lanvin is fantasy, glamour, uber feminine, and usually admired from a distance because I can't afford it.
Which is why I am so excited about this H&M collaboration. For a supposedly metropolitan area, Tampa doesn't have an H&M or American Apparel, yet it has everything else - strange. So, I will driving for an hour to Orlando but it will be completely worth it. It will be available in stores November 20th, four days after my birthday. My birthday gift to myself.

THAT'S ALL FOR NOW DARLINGS,
I just realized it's 10:18 and I have a lecture at 11,

Let the learning commence!

You know that time in August, when you can't watch a single show on t.v. without seeing at least one back - to - school commercial? Well that time is now. Fall 2010 is upon us.
I just moved into my new apartment off campus; much better than where I lived last semester, my closet last semester can be best compared to a can of sardines... it wasn't pretty.
For me summer ends on the first day of the fall semester, regardless of the weather (still hot!)

For everyone doing some back to school shopping; here are a few things on my list:
1)

Urban Outfitters Slash back dress. Forever21 Straw hat. Aldo steel toe oxfords.

2)

Graphic tee: Nasty gal. Phillip Lim suspender skirt. I would love to combine the skirt, tee, and hat..too cute.
Or..with a cropped leather jacket from topshop and boat shoes.

3)

J brand Cargo Pants. See through shirt by Nastygal. Messenger bag from Queen's Wardrobe. I have always detested backpacks, this messenger bag is a nice alternative.

4)

Nasty girl Britain tee. Erin Wasson for RVCA star shorts. Nasty girl thigh highs and combat boots.

Topshop Sparrow Jacket. Forever21 ring.

When school begins, I usually don't have a lot of time to spend on my appearance so I keep my clothes simple and accessorize! Hats, shoes, jewelry, bags, thigh highs,  e.t.c.
That's my list.
What's yours?

it's burning hot

So it has been ridiculously hot the past couple of days, I have completely given up on dressing up. All I have worn the past few days are shorts, shirts, rompers and beachy ankle bracelets. This outfit is from a few days ago, my friend and I were doing "the usual"-bumming in her backyard, eating, prepping to go to the beach, and complaining about the weather. Living about 5 minutes from the beach has given me the excuse to dress like I am on the beach and in this hot weather, that's an excuse I am willing to exhaust.
My friend's backyard is so pretty..I hang out there all the time,  I took some pictures of her backyard.

Romper: Forever21
Ring: Um vintage (can't remember where I got it, it's been so long)
My favorite oxfords: Steve Madden
Earrings: craft shop downtown st pete
bag: vintage

that's all for now,
bye darlings,
j'adore

THE ZOEINATOR (Rachel's back!)

So if you are like me, you have been patiently waiting by your t.v. for months to discover the answers to some of our generation's most befuddling questions:

Did Rachel really fire Taylor ?
How many bow ties does Brad own?
How many Chanel pieces does Rachel own?
How many times will Rachel use the word "bananas" this season?
Will Rachel's definitions of the words "bananas and die" be included in the dictionary?
Will team Zoe keep it together during award season?
Can we see Rachel's full closet?

OK..fine. Maybe not our generations most important questions but equally important. All of these mind boggling questions will be answered in the season of "the Rachel Zoe project"..answers so surprising, you might just- die.
I saw the first episode yesterday, she never disappoints. Love her!

I also found this video on her website, too funny. I die!

I love this show (I admit that proudly), my tuesday nights from now till the end of the season are occupied. So if you need me, it's unfortunate. Reschedule.

enjoy!
bye darlings,

At peace with nature

Sorry!

I haven't posted any outfits lately but I have been taking a lot of outfit photos that I will be sharing with you soon.
This is different for me, lately style has been a little edgier but this day was especially hot. I had the chartreuse tunic (which I adore). It was perfect. The weather in Florida is killing me, the humid heat is sometimes unbearable in the afternoon.
So, all I can do is wear really simple pieces and light makeup.
I was meeting my friend for lunch by the Pier, we found this shady spot and it was perfect.

Expect a lot of denim shorts, skirts and dresses from me for a while, I can't wear blazers or jackets without sweating bullets.
My nails are very summery, reminds me of a smoothie.
Now I want a cold strawberry smoothie, so I am leaving.

Tunic: Vintage

Skirt: Max Rave for Max Azria

Bag: DVF (so tiny, yet I love it)

Bracelet: African (a gift from my aunt)

Earrings: Forever21 (I broke the chains to make them dangle)

Belt: Pierre Cardin (sooo cute, love the details)

Bye darlings,
Sam

ALEXANDER THE GREAT | NET-A-PORTER.COM

That header belongs to Net a Porter but I can't top it. Alexander the great. That says it all; for a cutting edge designer, who is reinventing convention style, he is so sweet! (watch the video) Sometimes geniuses can be intimidating but not him, I just wanted to look at him straight in the eyes and yell:

"I love you, I love you, I love everything you make. I feel like a 7 year old after eating a chocolate bar filled with caramel - when I see your clothes!"

Alexander Wang makes me feel like a twilight fan sighting Robert Pattison.

I Shrieked when I saw this, and I got a couple of awkward glances.

My friend Beryl became a fan when she saw this video, she wants to walk on his runway soon; I think she will, she is determined (Beryl is an amazon and a really talented model, I will post some pictures of her soon).

Check him out as he gives awesome style advice and how to channel your inner "Cool". It is very likely that you will learn something new; I have!

Hope you love it as much as I do!

falling for fall

OK, this is my last post about fall for a while, I ll try.
I have always thought of myself as a summer child but this summer, I am looking forward to fall.
So, I am want to share with you some fall trends that can be modified for summer.

Chloe Sevigny. I love her, her style is and as always been young, edgy, down to earth, effortless, cool and innovative.
She is very on-trend in this picture. (love the leopard print) Socks, sky high wedges, cropped sweater and nice fitting denim shorts. What I love the most about this outfit - it works for summer, so yay!
that makes me very happy.

When I think of cool and effortless, I think of Rag and Bone immediately. Does it get any more effortlessly chic than a  pair of lace up boots, tucked in sweat pants and a cropped sweater, but for summer, skip the sweater for a floaty, breezy, cropped, tank top.

*outfit to be posted*
The icing on the cake: her hair! The I- just- rolled out of bed - naturally amazing- feel. Now I am missing the days that I had longer hair.

Chartreuse.
Versace. The color of her bag and currently in the color of my nails. It is such a happy, bright, and warm color. Why wait till fall? I can't think of anything more summery.

Chartreuse shoes. Mixed print from Balenciaga; how daring do her eyes look? love it!

style.com

Also from Balenciaga. Something I would love to recreate: bright colors and neutrals. Chartreuse shirt, layered with a neutral crochet sweater.

That is all for now,
my next post will be about summer pieces/outfits that I can't live without,
I will post pictures later this week.
